Chi

The literal Chinese translation of this word is breath, air or inherent oxygen. It is most often referred to as "intrinsic energy" or "internal energy."

Its use within Tai Chi (dow gee) suggests that it is an energy form, that emantes from a source, centered two inches below the navel.

Acupuncturists refer to Chi as an energy flow vital for health and well-being. This form of energy flows along meridian channels within the physical body.
