The perceived awareness of individual existence. Also, thought and sensations within one's identity. Part of the conscious mind, known as ego, can be possessed by illusions--a form of unknown reality. Spiritual reality however, dispels illusions. By having nothing to hide you escape from fear, enabling communion with the oneness of the universe.
In the world of spirit, there are always higher levels of beauty, harmony, wisdom and laws. There are no limits to these areas and as the soul grows, so a greater field of awareness awaits the evolved soul. We are not conscious of the higher while in the lower realms, but we are conscious of the lower while we are in the higher realms.
