Baptism

A Christian sacrament performed as a means of deliverance from the domination of influences which predispose to sin.

When a priest takes a drop of water and sprinkles it on the brow of a child, he does not in any way do anything which affects the child's life in this world or in the world of spirit. In actuality, no priest possesses the power of magic, to make water anything but water.

The soul is unaffected by Baptism, for none has the power to evolve the soul of another. This must be done by oneself, according to the quality of life that one lives in this world. We alone create compensation and suffer retribution.

The origin of baptism has its roots in the carrying of life in water (i.e., the water sack surrounding a fetus). Also, the rejuvenation of life by annual rain, so that life is born again.
